What is IPL?
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is using light energy delivered through a quartz hand piece in order to either thermocoagulate a vein or target melanin in the skin to improve its appearance.
How many treatments will I require?
Treatments are requires every 4-6 weeks apart. A course of 3-6 treatments may be required.
Does it hurt?
The treatment can feel slightly warm. We endeavor to make your treatment as comfortable as possible.
Is there any downtime?
You may experience some redness, slight swelling and bruising to the treated area. This usually settles within 1-2 days but can last up to 1-2 weeks. If the area still feels hot at home, ice can be applied.
Following vascular treatment a bruise may appear on the effected area, lasting up to 15 days. This may fade into a brown discoloration. This usually fades within 1-3 months.
Sunscreen must be worn when in between and after treatments.
Can IPL be used in conjunction with any other treatments?
