Frequently Asked Questions
What is an 8 point facelift?
An 8 point facelift is also known as a liquid facelift or a non-surgical facelift. The treatment is designed to rejuvenate and restore, replacing volume to areas of the face that have succumbed to the ageing process.
The 8 point facelift refers to specific areas on the face that are injected with dermal filler, replacing volume and providing some lifting capacity. Although known as the 8 point facelift, the treatment is tailored to you, the individual.
Dermal fillers do not need to give a ‘pillow effect’. Here at Serenity, we understand the importance of providing a natural result and work in partnership with you to achieve your desired result when it comes to the 8 point liquid facelift options we provide.
Is an 8 point facelift for everyone?
An 8 point facelift can be for anyone – male and female. Approaches to the 8 point liquid facelift treatment will differ for each individual, as with our many years of experience, we understand that templates cannot simply be applied to everyone. To ensure that you achieve your desired result and that your practitioner delivers you a natural rejuvenating 8 point liquid facelift treatment, your practitioner will discuss a treatment a plan with you at your consultation.
How long does an 8 point facelift last?
An 8 point facelift typically lasts 6 -12 months. How long results last for is dependent on the individual. Factors such as metabolic speed and increased exercise may impact the longevity of dermal filler. After having dermal fillers for the first time, you will have a better understanding of how long they will last for you. It is also possible that if you keep up with treatment regularly, you will see an accumulative effect. If you decide not to engage in regular treatments, the dermal filler will be reabsorbed by the body.
How many mls is an 8 point facelift?
How many mLs of dermal filler required for an 8 point facelift will vary between individuals. Typically, more mature patients will require more mLs of dermal filler. At your initial consultation, your practitioner will carry out a full assessment and explain how many mLs are required to achieve your desired result.
Will the 8 point facelift look natural?
Yes, your 8 point facelift treatment will be carefully planned and tailored to you, ensuring you achieve a natural result. Here at Serenity, we do not believe in ‘alienisation’ of features and know that our patients do not seek to distort their appearance. We will carefully listen to your requirements and give you our honest and professional advice.
Does the 8 point facelift replace a surgical face lift?
No, it is important to understand that an 8 point facelift does not replace a surgical face lift, although the 8 point facelift will provide lift and replace volume loss. Your practitioner will advise you whether an 8 point facelift is appropriate for you and will achieve your desired results.
What happens during my first consultation and 8 point facelift treatment?
During your face-to-face consultation with one of our experienced nurse prescribers, dermal fillers for an 8 point facelift will be explained to you and an assessment will be carried out. The potential risks and side effects of the 8 point liquid facelift procedure will be discussed with you, to ensure that you understand and are able to make an informed decision. We will need information on your medical history and will need to know any medications that you are taking, both prescribed and over the counter. You will then be required to read and sign a consent form, and photographs will be taken of your face and the treatment area, all of which will be stored on your file for future reference. Please arrive at your appointment with minimal makeup as the treatment area will need to be thoroughly cleansed.
