Frequently Asked Questions

What Is a Brazilian Butt Lift With Radio Frequency?

The Brazilian Butt Lift treatment has become increasingly popular, but there are many ways to go about it and options vary from surgery to non-invasive treatments. It can be difficult to choose and some surgical ones are not straightforward.

For example, surgical options such as surgical fat transfers are often requested, but The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) recently announced they were conducting a formal review into the safety and techniques used for this fat-grafting buttock augmentation (the more technical name for a Brazilian Butt Lift) after serious complications and even death from the procedure were being reported at a high rate. BAAPS therefore recommended to all its members that they not perform fat grafting to the buttocks until more data had been collected and analysed.

Greater numbers of people are therefore seeking safer, non-invasive alternatives to achieve more shapely, lifted and toned buttocks. With the Venus Versa you can lift and sculpt your buttocks using Multi-Polar Radio Frequency with Pulsed Electro Magnetic Fields (MP)², while also improving the appearance of cellulite. Using the latest technology in radio frequency, heat is delivered into the area’s skin tissue, causing an increase in collagen levels by stimulating the body’s own natural healing responses. The skin temperature can be controlled in real time, not only ensuring a more effective and precise treatment tailored to your specific requirements but also ensuring that your treatment is comfortable, with minimal discomfort.

What Makes Multi-Polar Radio Frequency Different From Other Radio Frequency Treatments?

There are many radio frequency devices on the market but there are significant differences in their effectiveness. Many radio frequency devices do not penetrate deep enough into the skin tissue and therefore are not as effective in causing collagen production, with its lifting and tightening effects.

What makes the Multi-Polar Radio Frequency unique is its patented technology. In scientific terms, it combines both Multi-Polar Radio Frequency technology and Pulsed Electro Magnetic Fields (MP)², which allows a greater penetration of energy. This gives not only a lifting and firming effect but also provides genuine long-term results in collagen production.

Also, while other radio frequency devices can cause discomfort during treatment, Multi-Polar radio frequency treatment is far gentler, with a sensation which can be compared to that of a hot stone massage, but increasingly effective at delivering results. With its built-in thermometer as an accurate guide, your practitioner will continuously know the temperature of your skin. This allows for the greatest effectiveness, ensuring that the energy is neither too hot nor too cold, whatever the aim of your treatment. Temperatures above 42 will induce localised fat cells to break down, whereas 42 will deliver a lifting and tightening effect while also improving the appearance of any cellulite. This is why it is imperative that temperature can be monitored and altered in real time if necessary – doing so assures you that the results achieved truly are the ones you desire.

How Many Treatments Are Required?

We usually recommend that patients receive 8 treatments, at weekly intervals, to see optimal benefits. It is very important that you follow the recommended treatment plan in order to give you the best results possible and to ensure value for money.

Is There Any Downtime?

You may experience some swelling and mild redness in the treatment area immediately afterwards. Sometime there is also a continued sensation of heat. However, this typically resolves within approximately 3 hours. You can return to your normal daily routine immediately after treatment.

Is the Treatment Painful?

A Brazilian Butt Lift with Multi-Polar Radio Frequency treatment is generally considered to be a comfortable procedure - the sensation felt is often compared to that of a hot stone massage. Your practitioner will always ask you for feedback about your comfort levels throughout your treatment.

What Should I Do Before Treatment?

You practitioner will discuss all pre-care issues at your initial consultation. But to indicate the essentials here:

  • Avoid waxing, threading or laser procedures to the treatment area 48 hours before your appointment.
  • If you are currently taking any medications, prescribed or over-the-counter, you must ensure that you have discussed them with us.
  • We are unable to treat you if you have taken Roaccutane in the past 6 months – you must notify us of this if you have.
  • We are unable to treat you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Again, please notify us if you are.

Who Is Suitable for a Brazilian Butt Lift?

Brazilian Butt Lift treatment is suitable for all skin types in the Fitzpatrick table (this is the scale which defines how much skin reacts to the sun). However, there may be specific medical reasons that you are unable to have this treatment so please ensure you have discussed your full medical history with us at your initial consultation. Reasons include, but are not limited to:

  • having a pacemaker or defibrillator
  • being pregnant, breastfeeding or having IVF treatment
  • if you have cancer or a history of it
  • having metal implants (excluding dental) in the treatment area
  • having a degenerative neurologic disease
  • having diseases in the treatment area that are triggered by heat: for example herpes
  • having varicose veins
  • suffering from skin-related autoimmune diseases
  • having an uncontrolled thyroid gland disorder
  • having silicone implants and/or having had injections in the relevant area

How Long Does a Treatment Take?

A Brazilian butt lift with radio frequency treatment typically lasts 30 minutes.
